Product Details

Grow strong, healthy seedlings indoors all year long. The Epic Grow Light with Tray gives your garden the best possible start with bright, energy-efficient LEDs designed specifically for seed starting and early plant growth. You’ll get quicker germination, sturdier seedlings, and less leggy growth, all without driving up your energy bill.

A built-in, watertight bottom tray makes watering easy and mess-free and holds up to twelve 6-cell trays or eight 4-cell trays. The light delivers even, consistent light across your entire tray, helping every seedling grow strong, not just the ones in the center. With a low-profile design that fits neatly on your countertop, you can grow where it’s most convenient for you.

The adjustable height lets the light grow with your plants. Start it close to your seeds, then raise it as seedlings mature for easy, ongoing care. Setup takes just minutes, and the built-in timer removes the guesswork by giving your plants the right amount of light every day.

Bright enough for healthy growth yet comfortable in a home environment, this countertop-friendly grow light makes indoor growing simpler, cleaner, and more successful for gardeners of all experience levels.

Assembly Instructions

How to use

Getting Started:

  1. Assemble and place the light over your seed tray.
  2. Plug it in, set the timer, and turn it on.
  3. Keep the light close as seeds sprout, then raise it as seedlings grow.

For newly started seedlings: Set the light to the lowest setting above your sprouts after they emerge. Then adjust the height to the tallest setting as your seedlings grow taller.

For small houseplants: Set to whichever setting keeps the light at least 6 inches above your plant’s leaves. Offset the light for those plants that require bright, indirect lighting.

How to Clean Your Epic Grow Light with Tray: Do not immerse the LED panel in water. Instead, spot clean the surface with a damp cloth as needed.

FAQ

Q: Will this burn my seedlings?

A: No. The LEDs are designed for seedlings and produce bright light without excess heat so you can place it close to your trays.

Q: Is it hard to set up?

A: Not at all. Just screw in the legs, plug it in, and place it over your plants. The light has a simple on/off operation so it works right out of the box. No tools or batteries required.

Q: Does it use a lot of electricity?

A: This is an extremely energy-efficient LED system. It’s engineered to use significantly less power than traditional fluorescent grow lights but still provide bright, full-spectrum lights to encourage successful plant growth.

Q: Will it fit in my home?

A: Yes. The low-profile design is made for countertops, shelves, and small indoor spaces so it’ll blend seamlessly into your kitchen or grow nook.

Q: Can I use it for more than one season?

A: Absolutely. LEDs are long-lasting, so you’ll get many seasons of use.

Q: Is the light too bright for my home?

A: The light is bright enough for plants but still comfortable in a home environment. Most gardeners prefer to place it in their kitchen, plant shelf, or laundry room.

Q: Can beginners use this?

A: Definitely! It’s intentionally designed for all skill levels. The ease of use is great for first-time growers to build confidence and see success early in their indoor gardening journey.

Q: When should I transplant my seedlings?

A: Transplant your seedlings when they are 3 to 4 inches tall. At this point, they are ready for exposure to outdoor conditions.

Simple Step-By-Step Guide To Starting Seeds At Home

Step 1

Use a fine-particulate seed starting soil and pre-moisten it before filling the cell trays. Avoid chunky or woody potting blends that may create air pockets next to your planted seeds.

Step 2

Be sure to follow the sowing depth instructions on your seed packet! Some seeds like to be sown deeply, while others prefer being on or barely under the soil.

Step 3

A germination dome helps retain moisture in the soil. You’ll still need to water, but less often. Check regularly to ensure the soil stays evenly damp during germination and plant development.

Step 4

If your seeds prefer warm soil temperatures, use our seedling heat mat to warm the soil. Our grow lights provide ideal lighting for newly germinated plants until it’s time to transplant.

Step 5

Remove the germination dome when your seedlings are about an inch tall to allow for more airflow.

Get long-lasting performance from our 6-cell seed starter trays. Made from recycled, UV-resistant American plastic, our trays are super strong and reusable, ensuring they will last season after season.

Our ultra-bright, full-spectrum LEDs are specifically designed to provide the perfect light spectrum for healthy seedling growth. This ensures your plants receive consistent, natural light year-round, promoting robust development from sprouting to maturity.

Yes! Our trays, domes and heat mats work together to build your ideal gardening set.

Epic Trays are rigid, yet flexible. They’re practically unbreakable and should last you a lifetime.

We recommend hand-washing with hot, soapy water as the best way to keep the material in good shape for years of use. A good dish detergent should sterilize the trays enough to protect seedlings.

As long as your mix is formulated properly, it won’t fall out. Each individual cell in our Epic Trays features an air pruning side slot on all four corners to discourage root circling and encourage better root growth.  The bottoms of each cell are also open providing air pruning at the lower end of each cell

    Cheap for being pretty expensive

I ordered one of these during the President’s Day sale for a decent price. When it arrived the leg snapped as soon as I tried to assemble the grow light. The black plastic piece that inserted into the socket snapped off. I didn’t over tighten it and I did not use tools- only my hands. Epic Gardening did quickly send me a replacement, but I was having the same issues with the legs not feeling sturdy in the seed tray sockets as I did the first time. I was afraid to tighten them further because I didn’t want a repeat of last time, and the light is unsteady even when I had my husband carefully tighten the legs for me. I then switched to the feet instead of the tray, which is fine I guess because at least I can use the light, but it was not my original intended purpose. I’m only out the sale cost but I wouldn’t recommend it and I certainly wouldn’t at full price. It’s my first purchase from EG and I’ve followed their channel for years, but I’m not sure I’ll place another.

    Legs keep snapping off

I bought a grow light last year and loved it, and decided to buy another one this year. I noticed that it wasn't exactly the same, from the lights to the power switch, and apparently, the legs. I screwed the legs onto the base — even with a gentle twist — and it snapped off immediately. I taped it back on and got it set up, but when I raised the light (correctly, by holding the base with one hand and lifting the light with the other), the OTHER leg snapped off. I emailed customer support and they were super nice about sending a replacement, which I just got today.

Knowing now how fragile these legs are, I was VERY careful to not twist these too much, or to make sure everything was in balance. It felt like I was handling a super fragile thing. Well, again, within minutes of opening the box, one of the legs snapped off :/

I'm able to use them with tape, but goodness, this was not the quality I imagined coming from Epic Gardening and Botanical Interests. Please go back to the quality of last year's grow lights! I literally have pieces of broken legs all taped up within minutes of receiving these items. I never had a problem setting the original one up, and it's still up and running great with no fear of its legs breaking if I need to adjust the lamp.

    Cool grow light.

It's a cool little set up for starting seed. The tomato plants are doing pretty well under the lights. I have one in the living room, and one in the dinning room. It's fun to check on the plant when we walk by. You can see the plants grow a little everyday. Set up a little fan and timer on the fan, and a heat mat your all set. Like the big boys. The cool thing is the light timer that's built into the unit. If you have indoor plants I thing this would work on indoor plants where there isn't any windows. The unit will store away nicely when I'm not using it.

If the plants on the outside look a little short compared to the inside plants, just rotate the plants to the inside. It's a little spendy but it works well.

    Needs warning

So let me say I love the quality of the 4 and 6 cell seedling plater things. And i definitely understand putting more money and effort of the light. But with that being said you at the very least need a tighten gently sticker or something because this popped and broke instantly. I’m gonna JB Weld it and be fine but definitely a packing suggestion cause I could see out once I set it up once it would have been fine but just a warning ok assembly
