Collection: Turnip Seeds

Pliny the Elder (Roman author, 23 A.D.–79 A.D.) wrote that he considered the turnip one of the most important vegetables of his day. Turnips are quite cold-hardy and both their greens and long-storing roots are enjoyed. To enjoy just the turnip greens, sow seeds at a tighter spacing. Did you know: The old Irish tradition of putting lit embers inside a hollowed-out turnip was the inspiration for Jack O'Lanterns!
