Sugar Daddy' peas were bred by Dr. Calvin Lamborn, the innovative research director that developed the first edible-podded snap pea, 'Sugar Snap'. However, 'Sugar Daddy' has some big improvements—stringless pods, shorter vines, and improved disease resistance. Slender, 3" pods have a deep green color adding to their appeal. The short plants reach only 24"-30" tall and don't need support; a short fence or trellis will make it easier to find and harvest the crunchy peas, though. Pods can be served fresh by themselves or with dip, or added to give crunch to salads. Add to stir-fries and soups or steam for a delicious vegetable. Resistant to powdery mildew and tolerant to bean leaf roll virus.

I love snap peas! I planted 18 of these seeds and 10 germinated. Those 10 really produced though! I they definitely need trellising, as other reviewers stated. I’m a first time gardener in zone 5b and I’m so happy with these peas. I’ll plant double next year.

This is my first time growing sugar daddy snap pea plants from seed! It is so worth it. It took a little while for it to flower, but now it is producing so many snap peas!😃😃

Wish me luck… I live in Las Vegas, 9A.
In November I direct sowed a large packet of Sugar Snap Snap Peas in a 15 gallon pot! Just sprinkled them all over… so far, they’ve germinated well. I want to thin them out, but I think I’m going to let it ride just to see how they do. I heard peas do well in a crowd, so I’ll get to see first hand. In a few months I’ll update with more pictures to show the progress.

The Sugar Daddy snap peas are true to the variety. Great germination rate! No random varieties mixed in unlike another company I used to buy from. The pods are sweet, crunchy, and have no strings.
