A beautiful mix of majestic colors, the Royal series has larger flowers than most sweet pea varieties, and heat resistance for a longer blooming period. Grow sweet peas on a trellis, fence, or porch rail to call in the pollinators. Bring the cut flowers indoors to sweeten the house with their perfume and old-fashioned charm. My first successful time growing sweet peas! I sowed these on February 8th in my mom's raised bed and we were able to enjoy the gorgeous smelling blooms and beautiful mix of colors into the early summer months (these photos were taken on May 31).

I went to visit her for Christmas and took a walk around the garden. Imagine my delight when I realized they had self seeded and now we have new plants growing already! We are so very happy with these. I have planted the remaining seeds I have in my own garden around a small obelisk and can't wait to see these beauties again.

For reference we live in zone 8A.

Soed the seeds outside 3 weeks ago and the seedlings are now 3" tall. I'm looking forward to watching them grow and enjoying a garden of flowers.

Direct sowed the sweet peas (after soaking the seeds overnight) on 1/20. They germinated 2/1. Thinned them after they had a few true leaves to 6 in. apart. Watered when it's been dry and after hard frosts. They are looking great at 6 inches. It's been very cold at night here so once out zone 8 weather warms up I expect they will really start taking off! Very pleased so far!
