Sowed these in Oct 2024. Now its April 2025. While these are beautiful, they are NOT the variety I was hoping for. Peony poppies? Botanical Interest mis-labeled these lot of seeds.

Is this variety of poppy seeds also edible?

I sowed my whole packet back in Oct 2024. 6 months later: while beautiful in its own rite, I'm disappointed that all the poppies came out to a different variety. A peony poppy maybe? I'm certain these were mislabeled by Botanical Interest!

Can I use the seeds of this unknown variety to make poppy seed bread?!?

Lauren's Grape Bread Seed Poppy is absolutely fabulous! I did the milk jug winter sowing method in January and it worked like a charm. They even transplanted well. And, boy, are they breathtakingly stunning! 2024 Zone 7Awith clay soil in East Tennessee. 100% recommend!

I've had luck with other Botanical Interests seeds, but not with these Lauren's Grape poppies. I'm in Zone 9b. I planted the entire package of Lauren's Grape seeds on February 10. Only one seed germinated out of the entire package. It put out one bloom and another two days later, but that was it.
