Product Details

Sweetly fragrant, colorful plants are star garden performers! Alluring, pastel shades of tiny flowers are massed on low, compact mounds. Fanciful along the front of your flowerbed, on the edge of a border, here and there in a rock garden, or in containers. The mild-clove-flavored petals make a colorful garnish to salads, desserts, and cold drinks. (The flower's central disk, while edible, can be bitter.)

I'm in zone 9b in CA. I planted about 8 of these and some have still not begun to bloom that are in the sahdier areas, but the ones that have bloomed are very pretty. I have gotten the various purplish pinks and white, hoping I'll get at least one yellow! I started these seeds in mid-January (indoors in seed trays) and they bloomed shortly after being transplanted the last week of March. I have found they do indeed grow well in part shade to full sun, and I have planted them in grow bags, a raised bed, and a Greenstalk Garden tower successfully. I believe these will need some level of shade in the summer, so thats why I have planted them in various conditions. Great germination, great product as always, very happy with it. Botanical Interests is my go to for seeds!

P.S. I love a flower that I don't have to thin while in seed trays. I find that to be a great, overlooked feature of Alyssum. Less maintenance than starting other flowers from seed. No heat mat necessary either, and they can do well unprotected in overnight 35-40°F weather in my experience.

Good germination and beautiful explosive growth as others have mentioned. I sprinkled seeds in a winter sowing milk jug and then just tore clumps off to plant around my yard. Also like other reviewers, I only got white and purple. No pinks or yellows unfortunately.

Loved the germination rate, only problem is I only got White and Purple flowers. No yellow or shades of pink. Also this plant was a lot more leggy than the product photo but maybe I didn't sow them close enough. Otherwise they were lovely.

Started these in 1 6-cell tray. I moved it to this pot along with some of calendula, while I wait for my plumeria to bloom. I did not expect that this would have explosive growth! Love how it just took over the whole pot. I started more seeds to put as companion plants with my boxwoods. I recommend these to all beginners like me as it is so fun to plant. Like what the other reviews mentioned, not too much blend of colors. Mainly white, pink, and purple. I don't really mind! It looks lovely to me.

Epic Gardening and the YouTube team of Kevin, Jacques and Meg have provided so much education on starting my first real garden! I’m growing these Alyssum flowers at their recommendation to add to my tomato beds for the pollinators. The trio have saved me from making lots of first-timer mistakes and I look forward to reaping a decent harvest this Summer. I’m in CT and would love to see a gardener from Zone 6b! Epic Gardening truly is Epic!
