An eye-engaging combination, these 4"–5" bright beauties have amazing, intense color. The heat-loving, tall plants are great for the back of the flowerbed, and are a sight to behold when planted in mass. Blooms last a very long time on the plant, and in the vase when cut for gorgeous arrangements. Zinnias are edible, but have little flavor. The colorful flowers can make a pretty garnish to salads, desserts, cold drinks, or serving trays. (The flower's central disk, while edible, can be bitter.)

These seeds were up in four days and have grown quickly into robust plants. Contrast Botanical Interest seeds with another well-known, less expensive brand that did not come up until I put them into a seed starting frame with a clear plastic lid (which they also sell ) That competitor's seeds have never grown into anything robust, and have not bloomed yet, and were planted at about the same time. The first photo here is of a plant that is from Botanical Interest seeds, that came up volunteer from last year's plant! About the beets, I decided to wait until fall to plant them.

I've been growing these zinnias for 2 summers now - they are a tall variety with large blooms. Perfect for large butterflies to land on - they are attractive to many monarch and swallowtail butterflies in my yard. Their red and orange colors are vibrant and they last a long time.
