Gorgeous blooms but not what I expected

Firstly, I adore these zinnias! A profusion of huge, mostly double Barbie-pink blooms on disease-resistant plants. However, none of the plants from my seed packet produced the flowers I was expecting. No pinky-salmon, slightly twisted cactus-like blooms. I love the flowers they produced, but they were quite different from the Señora zinnias I’ve grown from other seed companies.

    Hey Kristin,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the Senora Zinnia Seeds! We're thrilled to hear that you absolutely love the gorgeous Barbie-pink blooms you got - those huge, mostly double flowers on disease-resistant plants sound absolutely stunning!

We totally understand your surprise about the flower form being different from what you were expecting. Zinnia varieties can sometimes show variation in their petal structure and exact coloring, even within the same cultivar, which can be both delightful and a little unexpected when you're anticipating a specific look. It sounds like your plants gave you beautiful, healthy blooms that just had their own personality compared to the more cactus-like, pinky-salmon flowers you've grown before.

We're so glad that despite the difference in appearance, you're still loving what your Senora zinnias produced! Those profuse, disease-resistant blooms in that vibrant pink sound like they're putting on quite a show in your garden.

Your feedback about the variation is really valuable and will help other gardeners know what to expect when they're planning their zinnia displays!

    Keep on growing 🌻️

    I’ll buy every year!!!

Even if I get a wonky pack, I’ll buy this pack of seeds every single year. These flowers stole the show around my yard for the 2025 growing season. Every section I planted grew as tall as me (5’2”) and the blooms were HUGE!!!

That kind of garden loyalty comes from real results, and it's clear these zinnias have completely won you over with their spectacular performance.

Your enthusiasm will be so encouraging for other gardeners who want to add some serious wow-factor to their flower gardens!

    Will grow again

The Señora zinnias have been very reliable, much more than other zinnias in my garden. They come in multiple shades of pink, and I’ve been cutting on them all summer for small arrangements for my home. I’m definitely growing these again next year.

Not as described. I am a small scale flower farmer with much more experience growing flowers from seed than the average consumer/at home gardener. Purchased Feb 2024 and of my 12 “Senora” plants, zero were salmon colored or frilly-all were hot Barbie pink or magenta and faded to a light pink; at no time were any blooms salmon colored. Only 1/12 plants had double blooms- the rest had single or semi double flowers like the one in the photo. I enjoyed having the hot pink color to add to summer bouquets, but when you have a limited growing space it’s really disappointing to not get what you expected, especially when you have 12 plants of it.

Zinnias had great germination from direct sowing (zone 8b), but, like other reviews, blooms are various shades of pink/red, rather than salmon. Still very pretty, but not quite as described.
