I started my rosemary seeds February 1st in one inch-ish cells. I think I up-potted them into these 3.5" pots around March 1st. This picture was taken 3/22 and they have enough roots I could probably up-pot them again. They are doing great! I'm not sure how many seeds I put in each cell - it was however many seeds came in the packet divided by 6 cells. I know I had a couple cells with two plants and one cell with zero (hence only having 5 plants). I thought about trying divide the doubles, but decided I'd rather have 5 healthy plants than risk damaging the ones I was trying separate. I can't wait for it to warm up enough to put them outside.

Being aware that rosemary has...poor/difficult germination rate, I dumped the whole packet onto this 4in epic 4 cell, and got some germination. Overall pleased, got enough rosemary plants for myself 😊

    Survived the Snow!

First, I absolutely love BI and I'm constantly telling others how great the customer service, website navigation/information, germination rates, and plant varieties are, year after year! So, thank you BI! Secondly, I tend to grow rosemary as an annual despite being in zone 9A. This rosemary performed incredibly well in a container and even survived a freak snow we had in 2024 with no kind of protection whatsoever (I'm used to a warm climate so I barely survived the snow...the rosemary did better than me). I'll be growing it again this coming spring with a new appreciation for its endurance. Perhaps I'll keep it as a perennial now.

    Hey Pamela,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such wonderful feedback about both our Rosemary Seeds and BI overall! Your kind words about our customer service, website, germination rates, and plant varieties truly mean the world to us - we're so grateful to have customers like you spreading the word!

We're absolutely amazed that your rosemary not only thrived in its container but actually survived that freak snow better than you did! That's incredible resilience for a plant you were treating as an annual. It sounds like your rosemary was determined to prove just how tough it really is! We love that this experience has given you a whole new appreciation for its hardiness - zone 9A rosemary grown as a perennial could be such a game changer for your garden!

Thanks for being such a loyal customer year after year and for sharing this fantastic survival story with us. We can't wait to hear how your perennial rosemary adventure goes! Keep on growing 🌻️

    Great rosemary

These seeds germinate quickly and had a good germination rate. I am pleased with the lovely rosemary. Hopefully the plants will survive the winter here in CT.
