When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. Cold Climates: 2 to 4 weeks before your average last frost date. You can also sow half the seed 4 to 6 weeks before your average last frost date (hoping the last frost is earlier than usual) and sow the second half a week or two after your average last frost date (just to be safe). Mild Climates: Fall through early spring.

I got these as an experiment to fill in a gap between the concrete and the fence, that just gets overwhelmed with weeds all the time. I hula hoed the weeds out which also lightly worked the soil and then spread these seeds out. I just stamped them down to "set" them and then watered. This was January 18th. I think the birds ate a number of seeds but wow have I been impressed with how well they have done! Couldn't be happier and I hope they end up self sowing for next year... even spreading around the garden. I watered them a bit every few days, except when we got some rain. I have very sandy soil and almost no clay in it.

I love that the Poppies reseed and come back every year and the local birds know to come every year to enjoy the seeds. In my area March is the best time for poppies to bloom and so colorful.Thanks for the Great Selection of Native Wildflower seeds in the California mix. So Perfect!
