How to use
Mulching With Epic Organic Garden Straw
Once your plants are established, spread a loose 2-3” layer of straw around the base of each plant. Keep it about an inch away from the stems to prevent excess moisture buildup.
This simple layer helps keep the soil moist, shades out weeds, and protects your plant roots from heat and cold. As the season goes on, it’ll naturally break down into the soil, adding structure and nutrients as it goes.

Everyone talks about how easy it is to grow mint - but I have struggled, until I started mulching. Since the mint is in its own container - and out of the usual watering path, it is overlooked, a lot. The growth in 6 weeks after transplanting and mulching blew my mind. And having the plant marker with room for the date - makes remembering "when" I planted, even easier. The cat even decided that the straw makes the dragonfruit a bit more inhabitable, too. And because it is "clean" I have only plucked one sprout, compared to the 100's from another brand. I am an affiliate for Epic Gardening, and I did receive this mulch for free. But this review is not influenced.

This straw is excellent. It was hard to find organic straw not from that giant online megaretailer, and I was very happy to find this. It has given me a very, very few tiny weeds, which were easy to deal with.

I’ve been testing Epic Organic Garden Straw for the past few months in my raised beds, especially around the cucumbers I planted in late July, and they are thriving! I love how clean the straw looks in my garden and really appreciate that it’s USDA Organic Certified. It saves me the hassle of going to a big-box store to get a bale of straw and chopping it with the lawnmower like I used to as this straw is already cut into smaller pieces, which makes it so easy to use. I can also be assured there are no weed seeds because it's chemical and seed free. It looks nice in my raised beds, keeps my soil moist, improves soil health as it breaks down, and comes in eco-friendly, recyclable packaging. So far I'm loving the straw!
