Another seed mixup. I’ve grown green zebra tomatoes for the past 5 years. I love the flavor, size it doesn’t crack and is a short season tomato. But this looks like a beefsteak tomato not a green zebra tomato. I’m so disappointed! Plus i have a short growing season where I live- 70 days to maturity versus 100 days to maturity is a huge difference. This is the third time I have received the wrong seeds in a packet.

I grew Green Zebra tomatoes last year from a seedling I bought at a plant sale. I fell in love with the variety and wanted to try growing one from seed this year. Almost immediately, I knew it was a wrong variety because the leaves were shaped differently. I waited to confirm my suspicion and voila—the fruit developed into a big heirloom tomato, and it turned red! Delicious, but not what I was hoping to grow.

There was a mixup with seeds I got! This a HUGE 1 lb beefsteak tomato. No stripes, definitely not 3oz - 6oz fruit.

I was really excited to grow these tomatoes... unfortunately, there seems to have been a mix-up with the seeds in the packet, as these are definitely not Green Zebras ☹️

I've literally grown Green Zebra tomatoes from seeds for over 20 years in a row now and they are by far my favorite variety ...they have a delicious tangy flavor, they are very disease resistant and never crack or split. Because of deer I'm forced to grow them in pots on my deck and they are always the last plants to survive and produce in the Fall ...they produce steadily all summer long. They are the perfect tomato variety as far as I'm concerned!
