Meet the Charming Olive Tree!

Imagine a touch of the Mediterranean in your own backyard. The Olive Tree is not just a plant; it's a passport to a world of rustic charm and serene beauty. With its silvery leaves and gnarled trunk, this little tree is big on character.

Why You'll Love the Olive:

  • Compact Size: Perfect for small spaces, patios, or as a potted houseguest.
  • Hardy Nature: Tough enough to withstand varying conditions, yet still a total softie when it comes to low maintenance.

Easy Peasy Planting:

Don't have a green thumb? No worries! The Olive is forgiving and asks for little: some sun, a bit of water, and your good vibes. Plant it in the ground or keep it in a container; it adapts like a dream.

Aesthetic Appeal:

Whether you're looking to add a bit of evergreen elegance or simply want to spice up your space with some Mediterranean flair, the Arbequina Olive Tree fits the bill. Its year-round foliage and potential for quaint, edible olives make it a delightful addition to any garden or home.

Care and Maintenance

Watering: First Year: Water once a week, more often in hot weather. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings. Established Trees: Once mature, olive trees are drought-tolerant but benefit from deep watering every two weeks in dry conditions. Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry.

Fertilizing: Apply a balanced fertilizer (10-10-10) in early spring.

Pruning: Prune in late winter to remove dead branches and shape the tree.

Harvesting: Olives are ready in late summer to early fall when they turn green or black. They must be cured before eating (brining or dry curing).

Planting Care

Soil: Use a well-draining mix (cactus or sandy soil blend). Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and the same depth. Loosen the soil at the bottom. Fill in with a mix of native soil and sand if necessary for drainage.

Location: Choose a sunny spot with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily. Olive trees thrive in well-draining, sandy, or loamy soil. Avoid clay-heavy soil.

Watering: Water deeply right after planting, ensuring the roots are saturated.

Spacing: If planting multiple trees, space them 15-20 feet apart.

    Nice trees

Received the three trees and planted them a few weeks ago. They still look good even though they were in a couple of days of below freezing. Will see what happens in the spring.
