Wando Shelling Pea Seeds

Last year I bought English peas from a different supplier. I planted them until I ran out and then planted English peas I got from Botanical Interests. So, its a side-by-side comparison. The crop from BI are the healthiest peas I have ever grown. I have a 4-foot tall trellis, but the peas are about 6' tall and full of blooms and fruit. The other companies peas only get to about 3' tall. I switched to BI last year and will get all my seeds from you from now on.

This was a great shelling pea! I grew some in a small space with a trellis, and got them in the ground later than my other peas. They tolerated the heat much better than other peas in the garden. I was able to harvest a couple of big bags to blanch & freeze, and they tasted delicious even after being frozen. Impressive yield for a small space! They definitely needed a trellis, and grew to about 4ft.

I love your seeds and have been growing them for nearly 15 years now. Very reliable. I love the artwork on the seed packets and all the information that is included. It’s incredibly helpful. Thanks for all the love and passion that goes in your seed selection.

Lifetime gardener.

This was my first year to grow peas. I live in Arkansas and we tend to have hot summers, so I picked the Wando variety because it said they can handle the higher temps better than other varieties. So, FYI--I try my best to square foot garden, so I packed these guys into a 4x4 spot (most of one packet). Almost all of it germinated and BOOM they were growing. They grew up to 6 feet, but I didn't plan for 6ft, I only planned for 4 feet, so they outgrew my trellis!! THEN we had a major storm come through and so the top half (that had outgrew the trellis) fell over. But, good gravy, that didn't stop them. They are still growing over themselves and producing a LOT of peas! They are really tasty! I've easy harvested 7-8 cups of peas (after shelling) and we are still harvesting daily. My 9 year old who I have to make a deal with to eat his veggies on his plate most days, goes out on his own to pick these peas and eat them on the spot. It's a miracle! I 100% recommend these Wando peas.
