Cloves per bulb: 1-6

As the name implies, these tall plants produce gigantic bulbs containing 1–6 monstrous, tan cloves that are superb when roasted. Elephant garlic is more closely related to leeks; thus, the cloves have a mild, leek-like flavor. It also produces an edible scape. Prepare with vegetables or garlic-mashed potatoes for a hint of garlic/leek flavor. Stores 4 to 6 months.

Due to state restrictions, we cannot ship garlic to Idaho, Hawaii, and the following counties in Washington—Adams, Benton, Franklin, Grant, and Klickitat (including cities such as Othello, Pasco, Moses Lake, Kennewick, and Richland). Please do not order garlic if you live in one of these locations.

We source our garlic from local farms, where passionate farmers hand-harvest each bulb. This commitment not only supports our community but also ensures top-notch quality and flavor in every product.

Why You'll Love It

Who doesn’t love seeing a clove of garlic that’s easily the size of 3-4 other cloves? Elephant garlic is mild enough to add garlicky zest to your pasta without any heat, plus it’s phenomenal for making garlic bread.

    Garlic

All of my garlic arrived in excellent condition. We, at Stein Learning Gardens of St Sabina Catholic Church in Chicago, gave a class on planting garlic in the fall. We were excited with the quality and the 3 varieties that we purchased. We will be giving the class again next fall and will hopefully have a larger adult class. The 2nd graders from St. Sabina Academy planted their garlic in our new raised bed. Thank you!

I've learned 80% of my garden knowledge from you and Jacque on Epic Gardening. Started following since 2020 and never looked back since then. I absolutely LOVE been outside in the garden looking for ways to grow new flowers, veggies, and fruits. The next new thing I so wanna grow are peanuts and pinto or black beans. Merry Christmas ya'll. Here's to another great year 2025!

    They came up!

Just wanted to change my rating to 5 stars. My Elephant Garlic came separated and not in tact at all. One of them had a small tear on the papery covering. I didn't think it could survive being in the fridgerator, but it did. There were only 6 cloves in the one bulb, but every last one is sprouting up! Thank you!

    Hey Sherri,

Thank you so much for the wonderful 5-star review and for taking the time to update your rating! We're absolutely thrilled to hear that all 6 cloves are sprouting up despite the rough journey they had during shipping.

We're really sorry that your Elephant Garlic arrived separated and with that tear in the papery covering - that's definitely not the condition we want our garlic to arrive in. But what a testament to the resilience of these bulbs that they not only survived the fridge storage but are now giving you 100% sprouting success!

Elephant garlic can be surprisingly tough once it gets established, and it sounds like yours are off to a fantastic start. You should have some beautiful, robust plants coming up that will eventually give you those impressive large bulbs that Elephant garlic is known for.

Your experience will be really helpful for other gardeners who might be worried about garlic that doesn't arrive in perfect condition - sometimes these bulbs are more resilient than they look!

    Keep on growing 🌻️

    Elephant Garlic

I just planted these early November; they sprouted in less than a week. So far so good. ;) I'm so excited to harvest and enjoy them next summer.

    Slow or no?

Planted in September. Just this week, one green sprout poked through. Is it because it's a hard neck and the others are soft, that it seems to be lagging? Only time will tell.
