When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 65°F, ideally 70°–85°F. Successive Sowings: Every 7 to 14 days up to 80 days before your average first fall frost date. NOTE: In very hot summer areas, skip sowing as high heat approaches; temperatures consistently above 90°F will prevent beans from forming.

Growing Info
Harvesting: Snap beans are ready to pick when the pod "snaps" or breaks in half cleanly. This is when the seeds have just begun to form and the pods are several inches long (depending on the variety). Hold the stem with one hand, and the pod with the other hand to avoid pulling off branches, which will continue to produce. At season's end, plants are great compost material if they are disease-free.

All plants germinated, a few died but overall grew many healthy plants. It was my first time growing provider beans and while I expect more product I was still pleased with the germination rate.

I planted Botanical Interests Provider Bush beans 2x this year, each time only about 5-8% of the seeds germinated. Each time I also planted another variety of beans at the same time, and got 95%+ germination of the other bean, even some older seeds, planted in the same garden bed. The lot of Provider Bush beans clearly had a problem. I have grown Provider Bush beans before, from another vendor, and they were fantastically prolific. I was very disappointed in this bunch of seeds from BI.

I love Provider green beans! They are easy to grow, and I like the fact that more seem to ripen at the same time than other varieties. Now that I've found Provider, they will be in my regular garden rotation.
