Product Details

"Quick Snack" cucumbers were meant to grow in 6"-8" pots, indoors, on sunny windowsill, counter tops, or balconies. Because they are parthenocarpic, they do not need pollinators to produce fruit. These cucumbers taste best when picked 1.5"-2.5" long and have dark green, smooth skin. Look inside the packet for full growing instructions.

Variety Info

Days to Maturity: 38-45 days

Family: Cucurbitaceae

Native: Southern Asia

Hardiness: Frost-sensitive annual

Exposure: 6-8 hours of direct sunlight in a sunny windowsill or on a counter top or balcony

Plant Dimensions: 20"-24" wide, 15"-20" tall

Variety Info: Quick Snack' is a parthenocarpic cucumber meaning that it will set fruit without a pollinator. If grown indoors, fruit will be seedless. If grown outdoors next to other cucumbers with male flowers, seeds are likely to develop. Fruits are best when picked 1.5"-2.5" long and 1" wide.

Attributes: Frost Sensitive

Sowing Info

When to Sow Outside: NOT RECOMMENDED. This variety is best grown indoors in 6"-8" pots. However, it can be planted outside and will still yield fruits. If sown outside, 1 to 2 weeks after your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is at least 60°F, ideally 70°-90°F.

When to Start Inside: Sow directly into 6"-8" pots anytime from early spring to early autumn.

Days to Emerge: 5-10 days

Seed Depth: 1/2"

Seed Spacing: A group of 2 seeds per one 6"-8" pot

Row Spacing: Not applicable

Thinning: When 3 leaves thin to 1 plant per pot

Growing Info

Harvesting: Pick, and pick some more! Overly mature cucumbers on the vine will slow production of new cucumbers. Cut the stem rather than pulling at the fruit, as stems are fragile

Special Care: When grown indoors, sow a group of 2 seeds per one 6"-8" pot. When seedlings have 3 leaves, thin to 1 plant per pot. Plants will require a small trellis in the pot to keep the plants climbing upright. When the plant reaches the top of the trellis, pinch the vine and allow the plant to spread width wise. Pinching will help the plant put energy into producing more fruits.

    I've got baby cucumbers!

I'm growing 3 in my hydroponic unit. I'm so excited, I just saw the open flowers attached to the baby cucumbers! They're so cute. My plants are doing great. The seeds sprouted right away, this variety is definitely worth trying. I live in zone 6b and it's getting cold outside, soon it will snow. Yet I have cucumbers growing in my house! It's a good feeling

    Cute, easy care cakes.

I grew these on my front porch in 8b. It has taken them a while but I've also kind of neglected them. So far I'm happy with the results. All my 5 plants have cucumbers growing on them. I fertilized them about 3 times with a basic granular and Alaska but the soil is pretty rich. They're the perfect project for my little one, he loves cukes.

Will buy another pack and grow inside to compare. Will review those later.

I have been purchasing from Botacical Intrests for over 13 yrs. All of the seeds I have purchased were very viable. I started seeds that I had for 2 yrs past expiration date, and most came up. Great seed company. I love the Mini cucumbers. I started some for friends

to enjoy also. Its a Crisp cucumber, and has a no burp peel.

Glad I only planted two seeds, because they both germinated just fine. I was worried at first because some of the fruit died off the plant, but I adjusted my watering and moved it to a better location and it’s been popping off! Such a fun variety to grow, especially outside of the growing season to scratch that gardening itch 🌱
