Product Details

The beauty of 'Amazing Grey' is beyond compare! Crepe-paper like blooms unfurl into single and half-double blooms, each unique. Bred over 18 years from a single bloom in the Mother of Pearl poppy blend, the breeder isolated the purple-grey flowers, although you may see an occasional burgundy bloom. A practically care-free annual and a pollinator favorite, these poppies reseed making them ideal for naturalized areas. A 2018 Fleuroselect Novelty award winner. Drought tolerant and deer resistant.

I am in zone6a, I directly sow these in ground in early may and now have flowers in late June. This one definitely has a low heat tolerance. The foliage started yellowing before flower and the buds are smaller compared to American legion. There's a shades of colors from pale pink(almost white) to dark greyish purple for me. I probably will try to start them this year in fall to see if they will develop better flowers in early spring.

This year I tried winter sowing and these poppies have been blooming for a month and a half. Success. I love their grey, purple, pinkish, paper-like flowers and the little pods are adorable. I planted them with bachelors buttons, and Chinese forget me nots. I will definitely grow them next year.
