Want to try something new in your garden? This is it! Armenian cucumber with handsome, light green, thin skin is burpless, nearly seedless, and more tolerant of heat than most cucumbers. Sometimes called serpent cucumber or yard long, it is technically a variety of melon! A long production period means harvesting right into fall.

Harvesting: Pick, and pick some more! Overly mature cucumbers on the vine will slow production of new cucumbers. Cut the stem rather than pulling at the fruit, as stems are fragile. To increase the quality and storage time, once picked, immediately immerse in cold water to disperse "field heat".

All the seeds I planted, grew. I am a first time gardener so I’m not familiar with how they grow, but hoping they fatten up soon. They have had plenty of water and I use worm tea as fertilizer, so I will keep watching and hoping!

The Armenian cucumber did excellent for me and it’s delicious. I always have great success with seeds from botanical interest.
I’ve been a fan of Kevin‘s for many years now I enjoy all of his wonderful videos and love how he’s brought on many other gardeners with him. I’m really happy for him and his team. Everything they’ve been able to accomplish. I hope he has many more years of helping us grow.

These are by far my favorite “cucumbers”. They have a really great shelf life as well so you can harvest and keep them on the counter for DAYS which for me is a great benefit as I often get distracted or have too much going on to always be able to process things same day.

I love cucumbers and thought this might be a good mid-late summer option. These took an extremely long time to set fruit. Loads of male flowers. Finally set one, and it grew quickly. To be honest though, these don’t taste anything like a cucumber, and the texture was more squash-like. Harvested at about 10-12” in length. Guess it makes a good curiosity plant. Might use it more as another squash option.
