Product Details

This plant will surely attract attention! In late spring, the lovely, blue-green mound of leaves is covered with masses of heavily fringed, edible blooms creating a rainbow of color in white, pink, lilac, and rose that butterflies can't resist. Some flowers may be bicolored or have contrasting eyes or rings. The sweet, flowery scent is often compared to jasmine. The mild-clove-flavored petals make a colorful garnish to salads, desserts, and cold drinks. (The flower's central disk, while edible, can be bitter.) A wonderful choice for an old-fashioned cottage garden, cutting garden, or perennial border.

Beautiful with a pleasant perfume fragrance!

I started these seeds during the winter here in Florida. I did start them indoors, but it took them a long time to really start to take off. As I introduced them to outside, it appears they really wanted the warmer weather to start to thrive! Now they are looking great and smell so good, too! I wish I had grown more! Now I wonder if I can grow them in my flowerbeds because they look so nice!

Was so surprised as I never

From seed grew a plant that essentially grew itself

With no assistance from me whatsoever. A lovely perennial plant with an even more lovely fragrance of bloom.

Highly recommend. Fresh seed sprouted immediately.

I have had great success with Botanical Interest seeds for many years, from bumble bee tomatoes to Cottage Pinks, annuals, perennials and micro greens. I love the selection and reliability and mostly, that i can find them at my local Agway and other garden centers. Although, I have also ordered online. Some people get excited over shoes but seeds are my thing!

End of April here in Galesburg, Illinois zone 5 B

I used these in Winter Sowing and looks like they did germinate pretty well. Can’t wait to see them bloom and hope they will add new colors to my perennial dianthus.

    Hey Meryss,

We're so excited to hear your Rainbow Loveliness Cottage Pinks Seeds germinated well through winter sowing! That's such a smart technique for zone 5B - those seeds got the perfect cold stratification they needed. You're going to absolutely love the gorgeous mix of colors these cottage pinks will bring to your perennial dianthus collection! The blooms are so charming with their delicate fringed petals and sweet fragrance. What a wonderful addition they'll make to your garden! Keep on growing 🌻️
