Product Details

This charming blend of dwarf delphiniums performs better in the heat than others, and is an excellent choice for small spaces, or as an accent in the border or cottage garden. Prolific plants will bloom the first year, producing marine blue, light blue, soft rose, or white flowers. Grows well in containers and spots where the wind might topple taller varieties. Unlike traditional delphiniums, the dwarf type is a native of China, first introduced to England in 1818.

    New favorite

I grew these last year for the first time. I started indoors the end of Feb. and planted outside the end of April. They also overwintered well for me. Zone 6b.

Absolutely love these. To be honest, I only wanted blue ones, and lucky for me the only ones that germinated were the marine blue and the light blue (I sowed them a year after buying, so I got poor germination--- delphium seeds do not keep long so be sure to sow them the same season you buy). The colors are gorgeous and they self seed readily, allowing me to transplant seedlings in subsequent seasons to fill out the bed.

I love the YouTube channels and the Beet. I got a tray, humidity dome, and 6 6-cells for Christmas and then ordered another set of the same and they are brimming with seedlings for the garden this year. The only thing is that one of the humidity domes was cracked in the corner when received and one of the trays cracked when I lifted it to check for water in the bottom tray. Shipping misstep for the humidity dome and my fault for not thinking about how heavy the tray with the 6-cells would be when lifting up the corner. My seeds have all done very well. I think you two and your company are very helpful, not to mention funny to watch. Thanks for the great work!

Started Butterfly Blend Delphinium from seeds last year (2023). The flowers were beautiful. Planted in a container, and was pleased to see them make their appearance in March 2024.

I'm happy when anything survives winter!! Colorado zone 5b, 7500 ft elevation.

Just a heads up, the color is determined by soil PH! You can change their color by either adding lime or sulfur to your soil!
