Product Details

These sunny flowers in tones of orange, yellow, white, and salmon open their petals when hit by the sun to reveal a dark center ringed with purple that is very attractive to bees and butterflies. African Marigold petals are edible with a slightly bitter, citrusy/spice flavor. They make a pretty garnish on rice, salads, or desserts. The prolific display starts in the mild temperatures of spring in any climate and often continues to frost. In frost-free climates, sow in fall and enjoy their sunny presence from winter through spring. Flowers best during mild temperatures; a great choice for the spring garden. May reseed.

    Hey Salsabila,

We're so happy to hear you love the vibrant yellow blooms from your Cape Marigold African Daisy Seeds! It's wonderful that this was such a successful first experience growing African daisies. We love how you noticed their fascinating daily rhythm of opening in the morning and closing after sunset - it's one of the most charming characteristics of these beautiful flowers! It sounds like your 4-hour direct sunlight spot is perfect for them, and we're thrilled they were easy to grow for you. Thank you for choosing us and for sharing this lovely growing experience with us. Keep on growing 🌻️

Unique growth habit with floppy stems that have a similar delicacy as begonias (easily breakable at the base). Cute flowers that love the full sun in my 6a zone.

I'd suggest BI update the artwork for this package for the 2025 season to minimize the pink coloring in the depiction. This will lessen the disappointment of those thinking they will be getting mainly pink African marigolds, as well as allow this variety to shine on it's own yellow and orange merits.

Grew these by winter sowing in 8b Pacific Northwest and they were very robust! Lots of flowers by early May after transplanting. So pretty :-)
