Grow oodles of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers with no heavy lifting or digging required! Grow bag gardening utilizes lightweight, eco-friendly, fabric planter bags to grow great plants with minimal space and care. Get all the know-how you need to successfully grow a hearty homegrown harvest in Grow Bag Gardening.

Grow bags are perfect for urban, container, rooftop, balcony, and patio gardeners—but those with lots of property will find them useful, too. Grow bags fold flat for easy storage and are 100% frost-proof, so there’s no lugging heavy pots indoors for the winter. They can be used for many seasons and their mobility means you can easily move these pots around to maximize sunlight. Fabric grow bags offer gardeners a great way to grow that's cost effective, simple, and beneficial to plants.

In the pages of Grow Bag Gardening you’ll learn:

  • Why gardening in these special fabric planter bags results in big yields

  • How this no-weed, no-mess method of gardening is a real game changer

  • What makes this method so good for your plants (hint: no root circling!)

  • Where and how to set up your grow bag garden to reap the biggest rewards

  • Step-by-step instructions for continual harvests, sewing your own grow bags, building a specialized trellising system, caring for your grow bag garden, and more.

Who can use grow bag gardening? Everyone! From school gardens to urban homesteads, everyone has room to grow their own veggies in a grow bag garden.

Kevin Espiritu, author of Field Guide to Urban Gardening and the mastermind behind the popular website EpicGardening.com, offers an in-depth look at this revolutionary gardening method and how it can help feed the world.

    Wonderful Space Solution

I am using 5 15-gallon bags for tomatoes and zucchini and a couple of 10-gallon bags for squash and everything is growing better than any of these vegetables have in my elevated beds. They are easy to manage, fit into odd spots in my space and seem to hold water well. I do use a moisture monitor and small Olla pots to maintain moisture for tomatoes, but I am delighted with the bags, books and You Tube videos. I also included pictures of my GreenStalks, one of herbs and one of bush beans and strawberries. Unbelievable success for MN. Full disclosure, I didn’t know about Epic Gardens when I bought them, but they do sell them. My indeterminate tomatoes in the bags are so tall, I can’t fit the full plant in a picture.

    Hey Pamela,

We're so happy to hear about your incredible experience with the Grow Bag Gardening! What an amazing setup you've got going - your tomatoes, zucchini, and squash thriving in those bags is exactly what we love to hear, especially when they're outperforming your elevated beds! It's awesome that you've found them so easy to manage and that they fit perfectly into those odd spots in your space. Your combination of the bags with moisture monitors and Olla pots for your tomatoes sounds like a winning strategy, and we're thrilled that the books and YouTube videos have been helpful resources for you too. And those indeterminate tomatoes getting so tall you can't fit the full plant in a picture? That's the ultimate compliment! Your Minnesota gardening success with the GreenStalks for herbs, bush beans, and strawberries is unbelievable - thanks for sharing all those growing wins with us! Keep on growing 🌻

The Epic seed starting plugs fit a 1020 tray perfectly. My husband was super impressed with how durable they are. Made in the USA. Buy once, save money in the long run and support an American company. This is my first season planting indoors and I look forward to using them for many more seasons.

I love Eric’s book/guide, “Grow Bag Gardening”, this is a great book that is now my go to book. Very informative, not boring, easy to read with great photos. With a bad back I could no longer enjoy a ground level garden. I also have two raised box gardens that I built some yrs ago so I thought I’d like to try the bags. So far I’m totally happy with this form of gardening. I also follow him on utube and Instagram. He is a wonderful teacher/garden plus he is entertaining. Lol
