Our pink oyster (Pleurotus djamor) fruiting blocks feature a tropical strain that produces beautiful clusters of mushrooms with light pink to deep pinkish-red caps, depending on lighting conditions. They are succulent and savory, have a denser texture than other oyster varieties, and their intense color and rich umami flavor make them a popular meat substitute. Pink oyster mushrooms thrive in warmer temperatures and are great for beginners as they are reliable producers. They are also one of the easiest blocks to get subsequent fruitings and, if kept in the right conditions, should reliably produce a second flush or more!

Upon receiving your kit:

DO NOT REFRIGERATE PINK OYSTERS. Remove kit from the shipping box as soon as possible. Then, unfold the top of the bag, making room for air space. It's also important to check and confirm that the filter patch is not obstructed. This will help the organism breathe and continue to thrive!

    Grew Nice, Big Mushrooms

I live in NC, where we have humid summers. I used this block similarly to how I would use a spray and grow kit. The yield from the first flush was better than what I had gotten from other kits with a similarprice point. I had some more mushrooms ready today, too. I'm going to eventually put what's left in a grow bag with some compost.

    Hey Xing'er,

What great feedback. We love that you got a better yield than other kits and that you're already seeing more mushrooms ready to harvest! Your plan to use what's left in a grow bag with compost is brilliant - your worms will love it I'm sure. Here's to enjoying all those delicious fresh oyster mushrooms! Keep on growing 🌻
