Sow Inside

Not recommended; roots sensitive to disturbance.

Sow Outside

RECOMMENDED. 4 to 6 weeks before your average last frost date, and when soil temperature is above 40°F; ideally 50°F-75°F. Successive Sowings: Every 3 weeks until 4 weeks before your average first fall frost date. Spinach won't sprout if the soil is over 85°F, but it can survive freezing winters if covered with mulch. For mild climates, sow in Fall for cool-season harvests.

Amazing leafy greens! Lasted over a year!

I have this growing in my garden from last spring. I cut and come again. Its in a gutter box on my fence in partial afternoon shade. It lasted through the winter frost and summer heat! I'm so impressed! NorCal 9B

What an incredible success story! We're absolutely thrilled to hear your America Spinach has been producing for over a year - that's amazing! Your cut-and-come-again approach is perfect for getting the most out of these plants. And wow, surviving both winter frost AND summer heat in NorCal 9B - that really shows just how hardy and reliable this variety is. It's stories like yours that remind us why we love America Spinach so much - it just keeps on giving! Here's to many more harvests of those delicious leafy greens. Keep on growing 🌻
