Product Details

Uniquely beautiful, as these peppers grow, they change from a creamy lime color to deep purple and eventually red, with a contrasting lime-green interior. Productive, very early, compact plants. 'Purple Beauty' is sure to deliver no matter your climate! Also grown for its ornamental quality; great in containers.

    Wrong seeds.

Was hoping for some purple bell peppers. Ended up with some spicy yellow peppers. I planted a row of about 5 purple beauty peppers. All were yellow spicy peppers. They grew stronger/better than other peppers in the same bed but are too spicy for me to eat. If they weren’t spicy I would have enjoyed them but now I feel like I wasted time/effort.

    Hey Yoshi,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts in a review. I've reached out to you via email to offer assistance. In 2023, there was an industry-wide problem with this variety that was impacting both seed companies and live-plant nurseries selling Purple Beauty plants. We identified this issue then and it has since been corrected. Are your seeds from 2023? Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to ensuring your experience is positive. Thank you once again for your input. Keep on growing 🌻️

Like others, I purchased the purple beauty bell pepper seeds and was surprised with a hot long pepper that I cannot use. These germinated alright but many failed to thrive after they got a few inches tall. The few plants that did survive and were transplanted into the garden have started to produce quite a bit of these hot long peppers. Pretty disappointed after all this work seeding indoors then transplanting outside.

Buyer beware! PepperGate continues. I’ve attached an image of my seed packet with batch number if anyone else has a similar batch.

I wish I read these reviews prior to planting! I also got the wrong seeds. The plants are prolific, but I don't need any more hot pepper plants and I now don't have any sweet bell peppers. Super disappointed. This is the first time that I have ever received a wrong item for BI, so I thought it was my mistake. They did have a high germination rate

Ordered these Purple Beauty Bell seeds last year. Grew them this year and they are definitely not Purple Beauties. These look like some sort of banana or wax pepper. Disappointed that I’m not getting Purple Beauties after all the work of seed starting and growing them. Also wondering if Botanical Interest knows what variety was actually sent and if they will replace with the proper seeds.
