Product Details

Nothing adds more delight to summer days than the gentle fragrance of sweet alyssum. A wonderful annual ground cover, alyssum blooms all growing season, withstands drought and heat, and is an ideal rock garden plant. Alyssum graces containers and planters by hanging over their edges, and to top it off, it is very easy to grow! Edible flowers have a mild, grassy/mustardy flavor; the clusters make a charming garnish to salads and desserts.

Was slow to get going in zone 8 but now in mid October they are looking great! I hope they reseed! I am attempting to grow them in other areas because they are a nice low, cheerful plant! I love the different purple colors on the tiny blooms. I have watered them but I’ve also neglected them and they’ve done well. I don’t notice a pleasant scent but maybe that’s just me 🤪
