Care and Maintenance
Watering: Water deeply once a week during dry periods, ensuring the water reaches the root zone.
Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring, following the package instructions. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can lead to excessive leafy growth at the expense of fruit production.
Pruning: Prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing branches, and to shape the tree.
Pests and Diseases: Pests/Diseases: Monitor for common apple pests like aphids and diseases like apple scab. Use organic controls if needed.
Pollination: The Golden Treat™ is not self-fertile. Consider planting it alongside other apple trees like the Blushing Delight, Tangy Green, or Tasty Red Apple Trees, which are excellent pollinators.
Planting Care
Soil: Well-draining, loamy soil with a pH between 6.0-7.0 is ideal. Amend soil with compost if necessary.
Location: Choose a sunny spot that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
Watering: Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Spacing: Space trees at least 8-10 feet apart, or plant in a container that's at least 18-24 inches in diameter.

I recently ordered from Epic Gardening, and while the shipping experience wasn’t ideal—one of the two boxes arrived four days late, and the second came two days after that—their customer service truly made up for it.
The first box had some damaged plants with dead leaves falling off, so I immediately reached out with photos and a video. I did not want them to loose out on their shipping and such either. Epic Gardening responded quickly, thanked me for letting them know (and for caring about their business too), and said they’d be resending all three items that same day. I really appreciated how proactive and understanding they were—it shows they care not just about their customers, but also about doing right by their own standards.
I can’t wait to receive the replacement items. Despite the shipping hiccup, I’ll definitely keep supporting them because their customer service is exceptional.
