Cute, maybe check for invasive before planting

Bought a packet from a local grocery store and planted in a pot. I got California poppy, a ton of sweet alyssum, Moroccan toadflax, creeping daisy, candytuft, and some others that haven’t flowered yet. 4 stars because I later found out that sweet alyssum is invasive in California. I would personally prefer they not sell wildflower mixes in areas where the seeds are invasive, but it’s still pretty, fragrant, and does kinda look fairy-like.

    Hey Yumi,

Thank you so much for the 4-star review and for sharing your experience with the Fairy Meadow Flower Mix! We're so glad to hear you got such a nice variety of blooms - California poppy, Moroccan toadflax, creeping daisy, and candytuft sounds like a beautiful mix, and we love that you're getting that fairy-like look you were hoping for!

We really appreciate you bringing up the sweet alyssum invasiveness concern for California. You're absolutely right that it's important for gardeners to be aware of which plants might be problematic in their specific regions, and we totally understand your preference for more regionally-tailored seed mixes. Different plants can behave so differently depending on local climate and growing conditions, and what's perfectly well-behaved in one area can definitely become too enthusiastic in another.

Your point about checking invasive species lists before planting is such valuable advice for other gardeners, especially those in California and other areas where sweet alyssum can spread beyond where it's wanted. It's one of those plants that's beloved in many regions but can definitely overstay its welcome in certain climates.

We're glad that despite the sweet alyssum concern, you're still enjoying the fragrant, pretty blooms and that fairy meadow vibe! Your experience and regional awareness will be really helpful for other California gardeners considering this mix.

    Keep on growing 🌻️

I planted a combination of Fairy Meadow and Save the Bees along my fence. It looks great, and there isn't really any extra care needed. I would maybe decrease the amount of alyssum though, it seems to take over if you don't thin it out. I definitely have lots of bees!

This wildflower collection brought life and color to a barren area in the back of my property. I threw a few hollyhocks in just for fun. I will turn this into an annual tradition.

I bought this mix because I have had such good luck with botanical interest seeds. I was amazed at how many different types of plants actually grew. Two kinds of poppies, Forget me nots, so much more! Since s some are perennial, I have a beautiful dark purple Columbine getting a lot of attention. I liked the seed package so much I bought a giant size through the website to make sure I had some for this year.

I purchased this Mix and I have seen king Henry viola, and baby blue face so far. Super excited to see the new flowers pop up every day.
