    The Emerald Towers Basil was the most prolific growing, and gorgeous smelling thing of beauty grown in the garden last Spring. I have to grow it again this year. The taste is amazing and it makes the best tasting pesto. I can see that it will be one of those plants that will be on repeat in my garden year after year, God willing!!! I wish that I had more photos to share because it got quite big and it lasted into fall. I highly recommend it.

    I just love the Emerald Basil. Never heard of it before I saw Kevin mention it on EG. Germination for me has been 100% - and it grows so well. Doesn't seem to fall prey as easily to heat or pests like other basil varieties. Pictured is my 2nd wave of the summer - as I use basil a lot in my kitchen.

    A perfect basil. Started seeds indoors March 2nd, transplanted to the garden (zone 6b) April 28th. It is now June 27th, we've just gone through a 10 day heat wave (90+) and I have had 0 bolting. Talk about slow-bolting! I'm going to be growing this one every year! Oh, also the plants look lush and it's been such a joy to share the fruits of our harvest with loved ones.

    In the photo, the plant looks shabby but I want to show the plant's beautiful structure. This plant is quite old, planted in January 2022. It started to slow down in May 2023, and the lower leaves died out, but the tops are still making new leaves. In August 2023, I am still harvesting enough for a batch of pesto every week. It never bolted, ever. The taste and aroma are as good as any Italian basil. Ordering more seeds today!
