Dara' adds a soft, airy, elegance to the garden and fresh or dried flower arrangements. It is also called ornamental carrot or false Queen Anne's lace. 'Dara' is a low-maintenance annual, and not at all aggressive like true Queen Anne's lace. Fairly drought tolerant once established, but flowers best with regular moisture.

This beauty is worth the effort to grow. First time grower of this flower. It took a long while to get established after transplant but what a magnificent outcome. I am growing it in an established shallow raised bed and it is very happy in that spot. The number of beneficial insects like hover flies, tiny bees, butterflies, honey bees and lady bugs galore. If you're on the fence on this one, give it an opportunity. It'll work wonders to help establish a beneficial eco-system within your grow area! Give it a go by planting directly in groubd/raised bed, or, transplant the entire starter in a compostable pot to minimize transplant shock or damage to its initially delicate tap root.

My sister started and gave me the seedlings. I was initially disappointed. I recognized the foliage growing low to the ground but no flowers, as I did not realize they were biennials. However, in year two, they are spectacular. I am in love with these flowers. One plant will give you varying shades of pink and burgundy.

These seeds were for my friend. The real test is if they are viable in the spring.
