Also called wheat celosia, these colorful plants add a lovely vertical element to the flower border and make a statement when grown in a large container. The pretty, rosy-pink, soft flower spikes have an intriguing texture that nearly begs passersby to reach out and touch them. It is especially interesting to watch the bases turn silvery as they mature. Excellent cut flowers for fresh or dried arrangements.

These were very easy to grow. I planted them in June. At 1st I only saw very faint peaks of pink mostly white but as they began to mature they started to change color. They are looking their best in October. Very happy with this purchase. For reference I live in Palmdale, Ca. The summers are very hot and they did wonderful during the heat weave we had this year.

If you're looking for a strong pink coloring depicted in the botanical interest artwork, you may want to move on. I have four of these plants growing in different locations in my yard. All of them resemble more of a very light, almost dirty dishwater pink coloring. Due to such a muted tone, I think these will shine if they are paired with very deep striking colors, such as fuchsia or dark purple. Otherwise, they just blend into the background color-wise. However, here's what they do shine: These are incredibly long lasting and very hardy. They took a ton of abuse in my 6a zone. Lack of proper watering during our heat wave, and planted in clay. I will definitely be planting these again however I will add them in a planter to add as filler. All four of my plants reached about a foot in height.
