Product Details

Soft peaches, sunny yellows, and deep maroons are just a few of the spectacular colors in this blend. Narrow, elongated petals add a whimsical touch to any garden, and with tall, sturdy stems and blooms measuring up to 6" across, these make a truly exceptional cut flower and a great addition to a pollinator garden. Perennial in USDA zones 7—10; in colder climates, at season's end, tubers can be lifted and stored indoors over winter (see inside packet for details). Tubers and flower petals are edible.

I admit, I was skeptical. I had never grown dahlias from seed before but gave it a try. Wow! they are beautiful. Strong, tall stems and lots of lovely flowers. I was amazed.

I live in Zone 4b on Lake Superior in Northern MN. I started these seeds indoor in mid-March. I didn't transplant them until mid-June and they were very tall and leggy but they have since bushed out once transplanted. A squirrel dug one out but I loved seeing the tubers already forming. 3 of 24 seeds didn't germinate - not bad!
