Grow this star in your garden! Selected for its heat tolerance, it's great for spring or late-summer sowing. The big, 6"–8" blue-green, tightly-packed heads of 'Belstar' are followed by many smaller side shoots for multiple harvests. It also grows well in the winter in mild climates. Inert organic coating improves seed visibility when sowing.

I started these seeds under a grow light in my garage a few weeks ago. Just recently I transplanted them to my raised bed garden. I have covers if needed to protect the plants from cold nights or herbivores.

This season in Western NY our weather became hot and dry very early. The Belstar broccoli heads were on the smaller side but the plants still looked healthy. Since Belstar is known for producing side shoot, I hoped to keep the plants happy through July and August and wait for cooler weather. For many weeks the plants did nothing. Then they started putting out not "side shoots" but "side PLANTS". I am harvesting much nicer broccoli now than the original main heads. Belstar is AWESOME!

Best broccoli I’ve ever grown. There were just a few seeds in the package but all of them germinated and grew well. With the sprouting kind I’ve grown in the past, it’s always an aphid hunt before cooking, but this variety had almost no pests. Very small plants with giant heads making it space efficient. Only downside is that the taste was slightly more watery

First time growing broccoli from seed and couldn't be more impressed with how these plants turned out. Beautiful heads of broccoli and tons of side shoots after that initial harvest. Highly recommend!

After trying several varieties, this variety has been the most reliable in producing decent sized heads over the years. After the heads are harvested, it produces lots of side shoots until a very hard freeze.
