Product Details

Intriguing, dual-colored blooms on practically care-free plants with lovely, airy foliage. 'African Bride' will be a dramatic addition to your cut flower arrangements, and the bees will love it in the garden. Interesting, nearly black, miniature, papery "lanterns" form after flowers drop. This species is native to northern Africa and southwest Europe and is well-adapted to dry conditions.

I LOVE these flowers and look forward to planting them every year. They are incredibly unique and grow extremely well in my dry conditions. I bought one packet of seeds a couple years ago and I have been harvesting and spreading the seeds the flowers produce around my yard ever since. They even make good cut flowers to bring inside. (Side note: They look amazing planted next to the Black Knight Pincushion flowers.)

I love the packaging with thorough instructions for seed starting. I planted the nigella and it sprouted before winter started and I can’t wait to see the blooms and especially the seed pods!
