- Our Universal Bottom Tray (UBT) allows you to get the benefits of bottom watering without any mess.
- The tray will keep all the water and soil with the plants, not all over your house with an entirely flat bottom making it easy to clean.
- One Universal Bottom Tray can hold twelve Epic 6-Cell Trays OR eight Epic 4-Cell Trays.
- Our UBT can hold eight 1-gallon pots or eight 5-inch pots.
The engineered plastic construction is designed to have a high strength-to-weight ratio. The rugged construction will withstand all the abuse you can throw at it over the season and give you many years of productive use. A single tray can hold over 25 pounds without warping.
The trays nest into each other reducing stacking height and saving storage space.
The Universal Bottom Tray is versatile across many seed starting methods and 100% compatible with air-prune, Winstrip-style trays, and any other 1020-size cell tray. They are perfect for 72 and 128-cell trays.
With 200 square inches of space, these trays are incredibly versatile and will quickly become the most used tray in your nursery.
The UBT can be used on top of a heat mat.

We recommend hand-washing with hot, soapy water as the best way to keep the material in good shape for years of use. A good dish detergent should sterilize the trays enough to protect seedlings.
As long as your mix is formulated properly, it won’t fall out. Each individual cell in our Epic Trays features an air pruning side slot on all four corners to discourage root circling and encourage better root growth. The bottoms of each cell are also open providing air pruning at the lower end of each cell
