    Completely Gorgeous

It just POPS. Bright green leaves, incredible color on the blossoms - pics don't do it justice, I tried with different lighting and times of day. It is an amazing jolt of color in the garden. The tassels developed surprisingly early and are still coming. Got decent germination (about 80%) and wish I had started more of them earlier in the season. It's been in full sun (with weird temps from low 50s to mid 90s) and not showing any stresses. Seems to be topping out at about 3-4' tall, using just one round of Espoma PlantTone during planting. I didn't pinch the tops at all. I will definitely be growing this next year because of how much joy it brings me every time I look at it.

I bought all the different amaranth seeds to try to see the difference. The love likes bleeding is my favorite. The plants grew to 5’3” tall or more. It was crazy! I completely mis-placed them in the circle of dirt that we called the “circle” garden. I usually put my tallest plants (usually snapdragons) in the very back, but these 5 seeds grew to 4 giant plants. Super stunning plants—all of them. The coral ones couldn’t hold a candle to the love lies bleeding or the red ones. These two could be a 5’ flower garden all on their own.

I had never grown any time of amaranth before this year, and was honestly a little wary because I always thought they were difficult to grow. I have dozens of these plants all over my garden now and it blows my mind how long some of the tassels are getting. Turns out they're extremely easy to grow, at least here in zone 9b.
