Epic Seed Starting Heat Mat

Every product I got from you guys was great and the quality will last forever. I had one little problem with the universal tray I bought being just a tiny bit longer than the space between the legs on the plant light and it had to rest on the plastic support feet of the light. So the heat from the heating pad did not seem to transfer efficiently to the cells as much as I would have liked. The soil on top always felt cool to the touch. There is a grid under the universal tray which means the heating pad is not touching a flat surface, that may be part of the problem there. I couldn’t put the heating pad inside the tray because it can’t get wet. Most of the veggies sprouted pretty well, some cabbage family and tomatoes, way more than I need. Getting older, a bit hard for me to place tiny seeds so I got too many and will probably try to repot a lot of them and have too many plants. All in all it is a great experience. The small size is perfect for my needs. My only problem is the hot peppers, I really should have got them warmer. Only have five so far. I was told some may take a month just to sprout. I will try again and do a different arrangement with the heating pad. I know the soil would get warmer if I make a few changes.

Works great! Almost everything came up that I placed on this heat mat. My peppers and tomatoes look great. This is the only heat mat I’ve used, so I can’t compare it to others, but it is very easy to use and works well. The only thing I would suggest to change would be a longer cord to plug it in, but an extension cord works for that. I was worried that the mat would have a strong plastic smell because I have chronic migraines, but the plastic smell wasn’t very strong. It was rolled up when I received it, but it wasn’t difficult to place seed starts on it to flatten it out, and now it remains flat without them. It seems to have pretty even heat throughout from placing my hand on it. It works perfectly with the epic trays and 4-cells and 6-cells. It was also about half the price of the one at my local nursery. If I need another heat mat, I’ll definitely get this one again.
