Will be setting them up this summer and plan on doing herbs then in the fall plant some garlic. I did have a question I have never seen asked. What are the metal three or four legged things with octagons on top. Sometimes they look like they have wood chunks in them. Thanks.
Joshua L.
Easy to install. Easy to fill.
Boxes keep their shape with soil in place and look great too!
Now for the hard part… keeping all the plants happy!
Julie W.
We started buying the beds almost two years ago, and they are finally all installed. Front yard addition to our urban farm is well underway. Love how these beds are modular, so we could fit to our unique layout. Great product and fast delivery!
Laurie P.
These garden beds are great. We are very happy with the quality and will be ordering more.
Cassandra B.
I waited to post a review until I had grown in it for a while. So far the bed has held up really well. I was able to put it together while my toddler ran circles around me. It didn’t take very long and was easy. I have really enjoyed using the bed and have had great success growing various plants in it.
Terry L.
Easy to assemble and versatile with all the combinations you can do.
Carrie C.
Love my 8-1 raised bed! Perfect for my new strawberry patch!
Amelia O.
We planned to use this as a square raised but had last minute plan change and luckily was able to configure as a long bed along the fence. We dumped the soil in one go with a big tractor which rounded the outer wall a bit but it is very sturdy and walls haven’t moved since (it’s been 3 months, lots or rain and a toddler climbing all over it). I am a big fan of the design and look of these beds and assembly was very easy. I would recommend getting the option with the support in the middle if you are going to make a long bed like this, or if you are making a last minute change like us and don’t have the center bar support maybe try filling with soils slowly. Would buy this again in the future or might try the taller model too.
Alice L.
So far so good but will need to actually use it to know!!
Spencer H.
Showed up quickly, went together easily with no hassle, and looks great in the yard! Couldn't ask for more. Really happy with my purchase so far!
Abigail L.
Shipping was quick.
Assembly was super easy ,
I put it together inside and then my husband and i carried it outside .
Im in love with the green color !
Can't wait to add another bed next season.
Bernadette G.
I love my birdies beds 4 showing but I have 6
Dustin H.
Not my first Birdies bed and likely not my last either. High, high quality and look great!
Christopher H.
Love the Raised garden beds! Takes some time to fill them up but we hope it will be well worth the work put in. We did a Huglekulture type method where you pile medium sized tree branches below then fill it with dirt, then we used wood chips from the chicken coop that were well fertilized naturally along with some bags of cow poo and organic soil on top. It should be a good yield we hope. Can't wait to get more raised beds and continue to grow more over the years, Thanks Epic and Birdies!
Stephanie B.
My daughter bought me the 6-1 tall for Christmas. I bought the 6-1 & 8-1 short for my birthday. I haven't been able to put my plants in it yet due to my weather. My lows are still in the 30s and we have the possibility of snow again this week. Getting impatient to plant. I plan on buying more
Marilyn L.
I have gotten one bed filled and asparagus planted. Excited to watch it produce.
Carmen T.
I was more than excited when I received my Birdies Raised Garden Bed! My tomato seedlings that were started from seed were also excited entering their new home. The best part was the Installation. It was simple and quick! Can’t wait to install my second raised bed.
Lauren C.
All I can say is I LOVE IT, and I want more. It was very easy to put together on my own and I love how you can configure the size to meet you needs. I've had several neighbors ask me about it as well.
And the best part is my chickens don't bother the plants, at least yet. We'll see what happens when I have some strawberries and tomatoes. :o) I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
Melissa M.
We love our new raised beds! We love the color and finish and ease of assembly. It was easy to level the boxes and look forward to all our bounty to come. Thank you !
Jim S.
We have put together the beds and placed them. We have to get them loaded with dirt and then put in flowers, etc.
Beds were easy enough to put together.
Elissa C.
Easy to put together and sturdy.
Sharon Y.
I love it! This creates the perfect barrier between our grandchildren & a huge drop-off behind our house. And once it is full of soil & planted, it will be even more beautiful!
Steve M.
my garden bed arrived damaged due to insufficient packaging. also the package containing the fastners only had about 1/3 of what was required to assemble it (it was also open and the fastners were loose in the box), so i had to purchase more from home depot. not really what i was expecting.
Margaret S.
Love these! I want one for every vegetable!
Tashaundra W.
I absolutely love my raised garden beds! They are more durable and last longer than wood garden beds. I live in Georgia where red clay is the native soil. These wonderful raised beds allow me to chose the optimal growing medium for an abundant harvest. Another plus is that I’m 5’10” and these raised beds reduces strain on my back when gardening. The bonus with these beds are that they come in different colors. I chose beige to match my house. I recommend these beds to all my gardening friends.
Sonali Z.
Not such a fan- these definitely don’t live up to the hype. They were thinner than expected, the rubber lining kept coming off so we had to gorilla glue is down. For the smaller size, they said a brace is not required, but there was a lot of bowing once we filled it with soil. I still hope it lasts 10 years as is the claim.
In the picture we have this bed set up to do the “Florida Weave” for tomato plants this summer, with some extra fencing at the bed level to keep our dogs away from our soil.
Samuel L.
so far so good can't wait for results
Mary Ann K.
We put the first one together today. Went together quickly. Really lightweight for two to carry - light, but awkward, for one, because its so large. Great purchase!
Eva M.
My Birdies bed arrived in good time in a smaller than expected box. Super easy to put together and it looks great. The 8 in 1 is a really good size for my space. And it's deeper than any others I looked at. Can't wait to start growing veggies in it. It's filled with soil, now just waiting for some warmer weather.
Lisa L.
This was so easy to put together and it looks nice by my house. I'm getting my seeds started and can't wait to get growing. This bed will last a long time. Especially compared to my wooden beds. Fast shipping too.
Sharon G.
Love my above ground gardens.
Kenneth R.
Love the versatility of Birdies beds. I was able to mix and match two kits to make the exact sizes I wanted. Just bought two more for the new season!
somin s.
Just as expected. Shipping took awhile but worth it
Kimberly S.
Thrilled! It arrived about 2 days after I placed the order and the quality and attractiveness are better expected. It does not disappoint. The options for set-up made it the perfect planter to fit a particular location. I have just planted it with my favorite Anasazi beans. Hoping for an abundant crop and photos to share along the way. I have already recommended this raised bed to others.
Christa J.
Still in the box. Snow on ground. Writing this to prevent emails hounding me to review the product.
Angela H.
Amazing raised beds. Mint color are beautiful. All holes matched perfectly. Even had extra screws. My husband put them together but honestly it was so easy I could have done it. Will buy more for next year.
Steven P.
After an initial purchase of some Birdie bins, my wife suggested that we try a shorter Birdie bin for pole beans, cucumbers, and other vine vegetables that might accommodate a trellis. I had room for a 8n1 original and decided to try it. It fits the space nicely and is the right height for using a trellis comfortably.
I have been so pleased with the bins that I decided to write the reviews and take advantage of the 5% discount that Kevin offers for two more bins to complete my garden project in time for spring planting.
Jennifer B.
Love the quality of these beds. They are designed to last forever. Put in an arch trellis between my two beds to get ready for the gardening season
Cynthia S.
These are awesome. Very easy to assemble and are very sturdy. Surely will be adding to our collection.
Molloy D.
New bed, snug under a blanket of fresh snow in Tulsa, OK. Waiting on the Rhubarb that will be at my local garden store later this month.
Laura L.
I’m 65 years young and installed all by myself. Let’s just say I’m still waiting for help with a wood raised bed!
Cole S.
I love these raised beds!
Lin Y.
I have 2 original 8-in-1 Birdies beds. My husband was able to put them up really fast. They are good solid metal which I’m confident that can used for many years! I’m thinking to get a few tall ones next. Can’t wait to plant again in spring! BTW they look great too!
MICHAEL S O.
Sorry, I don't have a way to take a picture, no phone, and it's been snowing and raining, so I haven't had a chance to put it together. However, the 30" tall one I bought and planted 80 cloves of garlic, 4 different kinds, is doing just fine. A little taller than I had imagined, but it's doling fine. Next I'll be planting some of those carrots that are about 2 to 3 feet long !
Tiffany D.
Great raised beds! We chose some tall ones so our health conscious dogs would not be able to reach greens to snack on. The shorter ones we are going to use for tomatoes, peppers, other taller growing plants and are hoping to put a trellis between the two rows. Super easy to put together. Going to fill up bottom half of beds this spring with a dead tree we need to cut down on our property.
Becca T.
These beds look fabulous and only took me about half an hour to put together. I can't wait until the snow is gone and I can put dirt in them.
Susan F.
Our winter garden of cauliflower and sweet peas love their new home! Used our own compost too!
Erika A.
I love these raised beds. They are the absolute most affordable on the market and somehow are also the best ones on the market.
Laura G.
I really love these garden beds. Seems to be made of quality materials. Not to difficult to put together. Kind of on the expensive side, but hoping that they outlast me (I'm 66 y.o.). Am hoping that they last as long as the Aussie tells it.
Kathryn B.
Super easy assembly. Look beautiful!
Can't wait to orchestrate my whole garden with these!
Jamie L.
We have a "few" of these beds. Last year we had the smaller size and now we're adding the larger 8-1 size. These beds are seriously top quality and produced the best garden I've ever had. Filled with logs, brush, leaves, shredded paper etc. Top 6 inches with a mel's mix type soil. You can't go wrong and Kevin gives awesome customer service!
Jeffrey S.
So far my new garden boxes are working great. Can't wait for spring.
Paul B.
Set up my raised bed for next spring.
No winter gardening in Kansas.
Love the way it looks.
Sturdy and beautiful..
Dave H.
Love them so much, have bought more
Rachel R.
For my birthday, I was gifted my first 8-1 birdies bed. I loved it so much that I had to get 3 more! My favorite bed I have going right now is my brassica bed. It's so full of life, and I harvest leaves everyday for my meals. I used hardware cloth on the bottom of my beds to prevent voles from stealing my harvest. The assembly of the beds is so easy and almost therapeutic. I always look for quality gardening equipment that will last for years and be a worthy investment in my future and health. I feel confident that these beds can be easily disassembled and moved with me to wherever I may go.
Elisabeth C.
I ordered these for a fall project once my veges were done for the season. They have replaced 12-year old 1/2 wine barrels that served me well, but were well passed their lifespan. Now I’m heading in a different direction with a pollinator garden, and I love how the Birdie’s beds make this patch of our yard look. I can hardly wait for spring!!!
Diane F.
This was our first experience with raised beds. So happy to have found these Birdies raised beds. They made it easier to reach our plants and we no longer have compacted garden soil since we were no longer stepping on it and we could create our own soil blend. The beds were easy to assemble and the best part is that after a season of gardening, they look as good as the day we started. We're so happy with our purchase that we're planning to buy more!
Erika A.
These raised beds are beautiful, functional, durable, and the most affordable on the market. I love everything about them.
Emily N.
Easy to set up! SO excited to fill. Sheryl Crow clearly loves it (my sisters chicken). Very durable and a perfect size for me.
Joseph P.
Built my mom a garden with these so she wouldn't have to bend down as much. I thought about all the different ways to build a raised garden bed and I didn't want to use wood and have to eventually rebuild/replace it when the wood inevitably rots. So these are expensive, but I like knowing that they won't rust and will last a long time. One and done solution!
Lucy H.
Just finished setting them up. As a single 67 year old woman, I had no issues putting them together on my own! Working on getting soil delivered to fill them to be ready for spring planting (zone 6). Best garden investment ever!
Joshua S.
I got 4 of the beige ones and they look really nice with the black rim guard. Now I just have to fill them.
David Z.
Loving my beds here in the island of Bermuda!
Tri N.
I love the sturdy design and how easy and efficient it is to put the planter box together. The size is just perfect for our garden. The mint color adds a nice touch to the garden. The material is smooth and the curve design is beautiful. In comparison to the premade beds at garden stores, the materials are definitely professionally/industrially made. I can't wait to load the box. Currently, I have 5 bags in and will probably need between 10-15 more bags of soil to adequately fill the bed.
Cheryl T.
Hi Kevin....I had a narrow space on the side of my house between the hose post and a 55 gal rain barrel (full of maturing tadpoles}. I opted to join the two corners on each end and use all 3 panels on the sides, which
gave me a longer garden bed that fit like a glove in that space. I fill the bed a little more each day with sifted compost, wet peat moss, and a proportionate amount of charged biochar.
I originally planned to get this bed prepared as the new home for my strawberries in Spring, but it is making me want to put in some Fall plants like peas now as well as daikon radishes and let those be my cover crop .
I see more 8 in 1 beds in my future. Sincerely, Cheryl
Alexandra R.
So easy to assemble! Such a beautiful, clean look and sturdy design. We filled with logs and sticks and an assortment of decaying materials to sit over winter. Thanks for the fabulous bed!!!
John K.
Bought this for my best bud and his wife as a wedding present. I do in ground gardening, but my wife and I have plans to buy one for ourselves in the future for sure!! Happy growing.
Ps we love learning from your YouTube channel
Nancy T.
The garden bed arrived in an amazingly small box. It was easy to assemble. My daughter and I did it in less than an hour, but I'm sure I could have done it on my own, but a second pair of hands were helpful. The finish is beautiful. I won't be planting in it until spring, as it's getting late in the season. I'm looking forward to raising vegetables.
Robin Conley C.
Just got it put together and can’t wait to start planting!
Barb M.
I have always had wooden raised beds... but I finally gave in last year and went with galvanized tubs from the feed store. I "liked" them but I did not "love" them. I saw these Birdies about a year ago and was hesitant to try them because I thought they might end up being too flimsy, would not fit in with the rest of my garden style, etc. I looked at them so many times... and I finally told myself, JUST GET ONE! I would never know if I really like them unless I tried one in person. I ordered the 8-in-1 in slate grey. My birdie arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The assembly was quick and easy. As soon as I saw it in place in my garden... I LOOOOOOOOVED it! I loved it so much that I ordered a second one just like it... THE NEXT MORNING! Now, I have two Birdie beds that I will be looking forward to gardening in next Spring! Thank you Kevin for being our resource for these awesome beds! I love, love, love these!!!
jeanette m.
It isn't filled or growing anything yet, but we do have it put together. We were impressed with how easy it was to assemble. It seems nice and sturdy. It will be ready to plant in next spring!
Laura G.
This is my second raised bed. I LOVE them. They are holding up to the weather, weed wacker, kids, and chickens. I can easily put it together and my plants are thriving.
Therese C.
Just what I have been looking for! Looking to starting prep work for next years growing cycle. Once I have everything laid out, I am thinking will be buying more of these in the future.
Shawn S.
While I was disappointed in the wait time, I love the beds and plan to buy several more next year.
Patrick O.
This product appears to be what we ordered, but it took so long to arrive that we haven't put it in the garden yet. It looks like we will have to wait until next year to try gardening with it
Erika A.
I love these raised beds. They are the best option for price, and longevity that I could find. They will make a great garden.
Avery B.
Great product ( very unhealthy shipping and delivery for your business) please take time to build your investment inventory for future growth of your business. Keep buyers happy with proper service. Please! Your mates overseas would not be happy.
Audra J.
I have three and love them! Easy to put together and height is perfect for me to work in.
Chere-Ann B.
Easy to assemble and so far I'm loving it. I have a bad knees and this raised bed made it easy to work on my garden.
Patrick O.
These items appear to be what we ordered, but they took so long to arrive that we haven't been able to use them in the garden as of yet. We will be putting them together this fall for next years garden.
David G.
When we moved in 6 months ago, I discovered that the yard is 100% old sod with really hard dirt underneath. Digging this up is not in the cards. In addition, I use a walker so i prefer to work above ground level. The Birdie raised bed is the perfect solution. In the picture, you can see one with my composter behind it. I need to get two more of these - one to go next to this one and another for a different location to hold blueberries.
Assembling was easy but I don't like their recommended assembly order. I attached a long side panel to each corner to give me four pieces that would stand up. Then I assembled two of these with each end panel to get two U-shaped pieces. These were easy to transport and to align with the trench filled with gravel that supports the panels. Then, I connected the side panels together. I was able to do all of this while sitting on the little green garden scooter in the picture.
The first six inches is filled with various plant trimmings, pieces of wood from an old pallet and shredded corrugated cardboard. This will all compost. The top layer is 24 cu ft of Kellogg's Raised Bed soil.
I have YouTube channel where I will post the assembly steps for the next unit I buy.
Cara H.
Sturdy and easy to assemble! Planning for more in the future!
Charles D.
I have five of these beds in a variety of configurations, ordering a sixth. Always get compliments, and they are a pleasure for me. One hint: leave the nylon trim piece over-long for some months before to cut it—the beds expand slightly and you will want the trim to nicely cover all edges.
Millicent B.
The Birdies Original 8-in-1 Metal Raised Garden Bed (Mist Green) is fabulous! It is well constructed and very easy to assemble. It has enabled us to increase our growing space behind our daylilies without disturbing the existing plants. On both sides and along the back portion of the planter we created trellises from hog panel and bamboo sticks and are growing pole beans, small watermelons, and Zucchini Rampicante vertically. We used the remaining space in the planter to grow peppers and Summer Golden Egg Squash. We highly recommend this product and are looking forward to the arrival of the second one we ordered.
ROSE B.
It was very easy to put together. My tomatoes are loving it.
Karen G.
We just got it set up and we are using it to grow some tomatoes right now. The plants seem happy there. In the fall, I plan to plant my dwarf raspberry and blackberry berry bushes in it. It looks great in our yard and is the same color as our house.
Mary M.
This is my second order I placed with Epic Gardening for garden beds. I absolutely love them. Easy to assemble and love the color - Mist Green.
Natalie G.
Great quality and love the extra height!
Benjamin G.
I bout this set when it was on back order. My existing raised beds are stainless steel and now rotten in less than 3 years. I will be installing my new set when Tomato season is over looking forward for it to last a long time. I will post a photo. BTW my garden was published In Houz magazine.
Tina C.
Perfect solution to my uneven garden. Thin edges make them easy to use on a slope with just a little bit of digging. Pretty color looks great and they are very sturdy but light.
Deborah S.
I LOVE MY RAISED
PLANTERS!!!! The color, the constuction, the color!!!! I’mgoing to order at least one more!
I haven’t planted, that will have to wait until next season; however, I am so excited about growing some veggies and beautiful flowers next season!
Gives me plenty of time to figure out the design I want for my yard!
Thank you so much for the great communication! You guys are awesome!!!!!’
Moshe H.
We have not installed our troughs as yet. We have an incline to deal with and we welcome suggestions and some pictures if you have them available.
Tessie G.
Tah dah… here is my Birdie raise bed!
Perfect for my long yard beans & Romano beans!! Love it!
Alyssa W.
Really upgraded my shed! The black rim doesn't look that great - the cut end of it on all my beds keeps popping up. There is nothing I can do to keep it down. Otherwise, they're nice looking, functional and easy to put together. The customer service has been excellent too. Thank you!
Vickie B.
I love it, just started planting squash, peppers and watermelon in it. Would love to send a picture when plants are bigger. This is so much easier and better than trying to till our rocks and clay garden. I plan on buy more next year thanks Epic Gardens.
Christine L.
Love these raised beds! Could not wait to get them delivered and set-up. One thing to note, if you’re setting up by yourself, you might get a few scratches in the paint from the pieces rubbing together. It’s barely noticeable, but does happen. Overall very high quality and will probably order more.
Sharon L.
So easy to assemble I did one by myself. (I am retired)
It would have been so much more difficult and expensive to hire a carpenter, purchase lumber and wait for them to fit you into their busy schedule.
Truly as advertised, happy to give you a great review.
